My name is Roy Simental, better known as DJ "Royski". I am originally from Santa Ana, California, but moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1997.  I have been in the music business for over 22 years doing everything from school dances to weddings to nightclub entertainment.  My love for music has taken me many places and I am always looking forward to new opportunities and challenges.  

I began my career as a mobile disc jockey in 1984. I built a strong reputation as a reliable and creative source of entertainment for weddings, school dances, business meetings and other events throughout the Southern California area. From there I was recruited to DJ at the nationally known amusement park Knott’s Berry Farm’s Studio K. This was a highly successful venture in the late 80’s. It gave me my first taste of “nightclub life”. After this venture I began to work for a company which provided music services for many of the hottest nightclubs in Southern California. I gained a great deal of exposure as well as the ability to read a crowd. After nine years of traveling from club to club I began working for Shooters Sports Bar in West Covina. I was then promoted to Entertainment Director at their (then) new location in Costa Mesa.   

After seven years at Shooters, I decided to make a big geographic change. At the 1996 Nightclub and Bar convention I met three enterprising young men who wear gearing up to open a nightclub in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They wanted to bring a new and fresh sound to their town that was in need of just that. It seemed to be a great opportunity for me – to be able to start with a brand new club and bring new sounds to a place that was prime for my type of music. With my connections in California I was able to maintain a current inventory of music and keep Suite E Martini & Dance Club the hottest club in Sioux Falls.  

In 1998 KKLS Hot 104.7 hired me for “The Late Night House Party With DJ Royski”. Mixing and producing a two hour radio mix show from 11:00 PM till 1:00 AM every Saturday Night.  

In the year 1999 I went to JAMZ/Acme Nightclub and was DJ/Entertainment Director, then promoted to Nightclub Manager in 2001 and worked there till 2005.  

2006 brought me to Coconut Joes and I worked there on Saturday nights.  

Currently I can be found at the Verizon Store at the Empire Mall next to the Food Court. 

I have enjoyed great personal success in the entertainment industry. Through the years I have learned a great deal about everything from audio equipment to how to keep the dance floor packed. At this point in time my personal goals are to expand my knowledge in the areas of remixing, producing and club consulting.
